4WD Overland Adventure
Drive yourself, or let us do it for you. The overland trip form Cairns is one you will never forget: the bitumen (asphalt) ends after the first 300 km’s and washouts and corrugations challenge travellers for the next 700 km’s. Leave your vehicle in Cairns and enjoy a very personal tour, just you and the guide. Please note the road is generally open from May to December.
Fly
A two-hour flight from Cairns to Bamaga (Injinoo airstrip) follows the wild east coast of the Peninsula coast with unmatched views of the Great Barrier Reef and Cape wilderness. We can arrange your Skytrans flights and advise on connecting flights. If you make your own bookings with Skytrans, please ensure you advise reservation staff you are travelling with John Charlton’s Cape york Adventures. Alternately, you can fly from Cairns to Horn Is and connect with the ferry to Seisia. It is also possible to fly from eastern Australia capitals to Seisia in one day (same on return journeys).
Cruise
Seaswift offer passenger berths on the Trinity Bay. The trip follows the coast and is a great way to unwind at the start or finish or your holiday. Depart Cairns Friday, arriving TI Sunday, Seisia Monday. Depart Seisia Monday, arriving Cairns Wednesday.
