King tides and strong winds January 09

January 09 saw the monsoon trough active over Cape York as strong north-westerly winds were drawn in by Cyclone Charlotte. The strongest winds co-incided with the three days with some of the highest tides of the year. The famous Seisia Wharf shows how high the watercame, a very different view from the June and July scene most tourists see.
